It's a cruel world out there, some people say that and sometimes rightly so! Most often people tend to think for their own good but fail to see the big picture or the greater good if rightly said.
It's only human that we do so. We all need something that's motivating enough to make us do something, we all need a reason to do something it may be right or wrong and we just care for it as long as it does us some good.
A few weeks back in America same sex marriage was approved and the celebrations were worldwide but of course there have to be some people with a different view on things; like I read an article how we shouldn't celebrate too much about this thing because America isn't the whole World and we shouldn't celebrate with them, it's like saying 'Dude it's your friend's birthday, why are you celebrating with him? Let him do it alone.'. Now we know America isn't the whole world but what's wrong in taking part in other's celebrations and it isn't that much about celebrating what America has achieved but about the fact that someone finally took a step forward and did something about it. It's all about seeing the big picture here. We're not celebrating America here but something greater than all of us. A friend of mine asked me, when he saw my profile picture on facebook, 'Do you support gay marriages?' and I said 'Yes I don't find anything wrong with this.' and he was like it's unnatural and you're a pandit and you shouldn't support this stuff but let me ask you "Where is it written what's natural and what isn't?". Everyone has done something or the other that they weren't supposed to do or what wasn't supposed to be natural, that isn't supposed to be natural. I believe the word natural here should be replaced by conventional because anything that's conventional is automatically considered natural but we all know that over time many conventions have been proved wrong like the idea that the Earth was flat and that the Sun used to revolve around around the Earth and the Earth was the centre of the universe as we know it and these were all fallacies. You know it shouldn't be a surprise that people are opposing gay marriages in India after all it is a country where honour killings and rape are so common, also gay marriage is essentially a love marriage so it's natural that many of us oppose it.
Entrepreneurship, that another thing we people don't support or more like we're afraid to be one. For one obvious reason that it involves investment and risk and people say we aren't interested in this, well some are genuinely not and others just say this because they're afraid of the risk. Sometimes it's not all about the money that we'll make but it's about the respect we earn because building a start-up from the ground up is not an easy task and people will admire you when you attain a certain level of success. We all want to stand out as a man but we follow the crowd, why not be the leader of the crowd. We all want to be like Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates or Mukesh Ambani, we all admire them but when the opportunity presents itself to be like them we all take a step back saying this is not for us, basically people are not willing to put in the time and energy to make something happen for themselves but want to work for them and make their dreams come true. We've all attended school and paid a handsome amount of money every year for 12 years and then we've had tuitions for which we again paid some money and then we paid some money for the entrance tests and still after all that majority of us are sitting in colleges we didn't dream of or doing something we didn't want for ourselves. What's there in taking another risk and if we see, we as youngsters have got nothing to loose, we already waste so much money on things that won't profit us, why not for once try it in something that isn't a waste of time and for all you know could be the next big thing. We've put in so much money and today we aren't where we wanted to be so what's the harm in taking another risk and be the one who provides job opportunities for others rather than be the one to look for a job. Now entrepreneurship isn't something that everyone wants but for those who have a passion and enthusiasm for it should definitely go for it. We all like those quotes about how life is all about taking risks but when the moment comes we all back down and entrepreneurship is something that will guarantee something in return, the profit in this might be slow but the thing is that profit is guaranteed it's just about patience. If we look at this from a bigger perspective an entrepreneur provides jobs for people, he/she could provide a new line of work for people and their idea could set them apart from the crowd. But then everyone is entitled to their own opinion, the best I can do is tell you why to become one and not just be another person who loves his 9am-6pm wali job.
Looking at something from a different perspective is always beneficial, a broader view of things or the Big Picture. We just might find something that is potentially life changing and changing lives, having an impact on people's life in a good way is all what everyone wants. Everyone wants to be remembered forever for something that they did that changed the lives of people and for that we have to step forward and do something. We all need to see the Big Picture in our lives!
