A Love Story That Wasn't!

So I took the advice and I've been writing something. Here is a little preview of what I have written.

           *                       *                     *
How do you know it is the right moment? I don't think there is any answer to that. You just know it, when everything is in place. I guess that's how you know about the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you just know it. It sounds like one of those dialogues that you hear in a Yash Raj movie. Now the hard part about it is that is this 'really' the person you want to be with. Maybe it is an infatuation or you just watched a lot of porn the other day or maybe it really is love. How do you figure that out? All this going through my mind when I approached her.
“Hi” I said
“Hello” she said
“I'm Varun”
“Hi Varun”
I went blank. I had nothing more meaningful to say. For a few seconds there was an awkward silence. I was cursing myself. I wasn't exactly a person who is an icebreaker.
“So Varun where are you from?” she said breaking the silence
“I'm from Delhi”
“Okay”
“I think this is the part where you tell me your name”
“I'm Aarti”
“Okay”
“So what's up? You wanted to talk to me?”
I did not know how to answer that. Of all the conversations I've had with girls this one was the longest. I had to come up with something to say.
“Yeah I heard you're from Delhi too”
“Yes I am. Who told you that?”
“It was in the news”
She laughed. It was amazing how easy she was to talk to. She laughed at the most absurd thing I had to say to her. This bubbly smile that was constantly on her face was the best part about her. I couldn't take my mind off it.
“You are funny”
“A lot of people would beg to differ on that”
“Well I find you funny, how come we never talked before?”
“I'm really not much of a social person”
“So what urged this non-social person to talk to me today?”
“I figured I should know you”
“And why is that?”
“Because you are from Delhi”
“And not because I'm pretty”
“No, you are pretty. I was...”
“It's okay! I was just pulling your leg. You should look at your face”
She burst out laughing and I was just happy watching her laugh. She could brighten anyone's day and today I was the lucky one.
“You are cute!” I said
The laughing stopped. The smile on her face went away. She was serious. I thought she was going to slap me.
“Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry….”
She burst out laughing again and I let out a sigh of relief that she did not slap me.
“Dude you really need to see your face right now”
“Yeah I guess”
“Wait let me take a photo”
I froze. She took out her phone and clicked a photo and put the phone back in her bag.
“So I'm not allowed to see it?” I asked her
“Maybe some other time. We need to have something to talk about next time”
“Are you going somewhere?”
“Actually I have to buy some things so I need to go the market.”
“Okay”
“So it is a bye for now”
She took her bag and left.

That moment I was thinking about, this was it. That time I knew it was not infatuation or the porn.
