It's doesn't quite feel like the 21st century!

So today I helped one of my friends set up her first blog and I know it isn't like a big feat to have achieved but still it feels really wonderful that someone is actually following you, that someone looks up to you and helping them gives you immense pleasure. It's really something to feel like the way I do right now.
People are like 'I'm really thankful that you took your precious time to help me' and I say to myself that people actually value my time. So I think I should start charging people for my time and I think I'll earn a butt load of money because I have a lot of time to give so please people help me in this noble cause of making me rich but this also takes it's toll. After some time you get irritated with these things.

Speaking of irritating things, one of the most irritating things I find about some people is that they are so stubborn on something that they don't even acknowledge any other view. There is always another side to something. Now I don't challenge people's beliefs, it good that they believe in something but then ruling out others isn't a pleasant thing to do because not always but sometimes they turn out to be true. Like for example most of our elders support the idea of marrying inside one's own community and that's a good thing but I don't quite get why they thing marrying outside one's community will destroy your precious community

'community is a social unit of any size that shares common values'. We do share common values alright but are we really a social unit? I mean we hardly make an effort to get together except for the times we are all affected by the same problem or something else for that matter. We make so many organisations, groups and what not but we are reminded of these when we need them only and it's only human nature that we do so but its good to stir things up a bit sometimes.

I am a member of a kashmiri group where people are constantly involved in talks on different topics and sometimes on migration and many other topics. Some time ago there was a post about how a kashmiri married a muslim boy and converted to islam (Which is false for everyone's knowledge) and I was literally taken back by what most people had to say about this. I can't even begin to describe what kind of language people used as if they had been offended and then they bring out the topic of disgracing the community, I mean were these people really serious saying that stuff and then when I asked what they had done to make our so called 'community' proud I got no answer, as expected. Then there was this guy who kept saying ill things about this girl and how she was a disgrace to our community and pointed some things in QURAN. He was convinced that this girl was going to give birth to terrorists and after reading that I just wanted to find that guy and punch him in his face, I mean what a douche bag and the interesting thing was when this post was proven false, the poor girl had go to court to prove that she hasn't married anyone and she hadn't converted to Islam and his comments were 'mujhe pata tha ki ye ek sazish hai. No one from our community would do anything to hurt it's integrity' this guy just flipped, he behaved like he never said anything like that. I guess I shouldn't bother telling you about him much now.

I'm not against anyone, I'm not challenging anyone's beliefs, I'm just trying to give you a little more perspective of things. I don't support inter-caste marriages either but I don't have any problem if anyone opts to do so, I simply don't find it problematic. For those people who think intercaste marriages are destroying our community, think of it as welcoming another member into our community, it's really not that difficult and making a such a big fuss over it, I don't think it's worth it.

It's the 21st century people but seeing the mindset of some people I don't really think we are. Intercaste marriages is just something I targeted this time. I know many people will be offended by this but my intention wasn't to offend you and I know I don't do a good job with writing things but I believe this just might have some effect on people and they just might extend their horizon of thinking.
