Expectations really are something! They surely mess up your emotions. We all have different expectations from everyone. Expectations are something that everyone has and no one can't deny that they don't have an expectation from anyone.
Sometimes things live up to our expectations and sometimes they don't. For some people some things don't matter that much but for someone it means the world to others. Expecting something from someone is as big thing, it really tells you that you are worth something in their life. We don't always get the worth of this word, we take it for granted or more like others take it for granted. Not that there is anything to complain about this, it's just the cold hard fact of life, sometimes things work out for you and sometimes they don't. We sometimes get what we expect and sometimes we don't.
We all expect some things from some people and some people expect things from us, maybe it goes both ways. Like everyone expects a good and a very comfortable life but what does life expect from us is something that most of does don't know and for the few that know what life demands have been, what we call, successful in their respective lives. I can't comment on what life wants because I frankly don't know it either.
Like I said we all expect something from someone and there is nothing to complain about anything. Just taking a case for example, like between parents and a child. A parent wants his child to become something in life and what the child wants is totally up to the child. Like my parents wanted me to become a doctor and what I had in mind was completely different, I wanted engineering and so here I am sitting in my computer lab posting this blog. I guess what they wanted for me was just to see me make something of myself and I am going to try that by doing it, I guess in my own way. Now when I told my parents that I'll be writing for a website and I'll be paid to do that, the response I got was that 'That's all okay but don't let this thing interfere with your studies!' I guess the fact that I'll most probably be earning before I get a job doesn't amuse them. I guess that they aren't impressed because I'll not be paid by TCS or Infosys, they won't be paying me for that. I don't get it, why this is a big deal being paid by TCS or any of those companies for that matter. Maybe it really goes both ways, I didn't do what my parents expected from me and they didn't give me the response I wanted or expected,I should say, from them.
Well expectations really mess up your 'whatever it is that there is to mess up'. I'm not disappointed by what my parents had to say but I'm just confused on why this is such a big deal. My parents really take pride in me being an engineer and say I'll be a good one at that. That's one thing that you have by your side always, support of your PARENTS. They might not show it but it's what everyone should remember that they have by their side. We as students have many expectations too, we expect our teachers to give us better marks and teachers expect us to score better so it is kind of a dead lock situation for us.
Having an expectation from someone has its advantages or perks too. If someone lives up to your expectations you can trust them more. That's the only thing that comes to anyone's minds when we think of advantages of this thing. We don't think much about the good things that something can offer, we don't actually think about anything and just go by what we hear from others and hardly bother to try our logics on that thing. It's just the way we are. Now not expecting something will be foolish because thinking it might hurt you is foolishness. Anything can't be all good or all bad, it's a little bit of both, so expectations just might turn into something worth your while and be the best thing you can have.
