It's been some time. I have been meaning to write something that was impactful and appealed to a larger audience than what my regular viewer-base is. Why I did not write is because I did not want it to be a solo thing, I wanted to collaborate. I could not find anyone, probably because I did not ask anyone. Anyways I was watching this movie 'Buddha in a Traffic Jam'
which is a very good movie by the way. It is not particularly the typical genre of movies that I watch but it got me thinking. What is considered impactful? What do I need to write about? Who do I target? What should be the tao of this impactful post I am going to write? It is hard to decide maybe because there is a lot going on in my life right now and it is very hard to actually tell what is going on.
Most of you must have seen motivational videos, right? What do they tell you in those videos? They show some inspirational dialogues and scenes from some movies and for some 5-10 minutes you get that motivation to pull off the impossible. They tell you that impossible is nothing, everyone is meant to be great in their own way and I couldn't agree more. But what about after those 10 minutes? The whole passion and that motivation fades then you watch the video again and the cycle continues until you stop watching those videos. I agree with all these things that everyone is great and nothing is impossible and stuff but no motivational speaker or video is going to tell you this one thing. You will not be great until you accept the fact that you are not great. You don't always need to be motivated or pumped up to do something spectacular, you just need to start first by realising that you are not able to do something. When you do that, then is when the real enlightenment and motivation begins.
People get very happy when they hear this, "Sometimes you have to run, before you can walk". Yeah fantastic BUT what everyone fails to notice is that there is a big SOMETIMES written at the start of the sentence. Not everyone is meant for everything, this is the hard truth and everyone needs to accept that. These words might sound like it but I do not want to be mistaken as a pessimist. I'm not telling you to not try to change your destiny, I'm telling you to first accept it and then try to do something about it.
Let's take an example, today thanks to TVF Pitcher and many other factors the startup culture in the country is at an all time high. Today almost every 20-something graduate wants to be the CEO of his/her own company. Good for them, right? But what happens to most of these startups and CEO's? They fail! Why this happens is because they think it is cool. You should not do something just because you think it is cool. What they don't consider is that if everyone who thinks that startups are cool starts making startups then there won't be anyone left that will think that startups are cool. Consider it this way, if every employee became an employer then there won't be any employee. When you accept the fact that right now you are an employee that's when you start being an employer.
You have to see that silver lining that you will get through the tough times and remember
