Everyone is looking for something, right? Success, fame,
money, love etc. But there is the one thing no one can get enough of, Time.
Everyone wants more of it. You can't control it, the best you can do is manage
it. People say 'time flies', maybe it is true. Things never remain the same,
everything changes people change, places change. In this highly dynamic world
to remain static is impossible. Everything that is static must end, it is the
rule of nature I guess. Everything that is good must end for other things to
take their place. We all know that but we choose not to believe it and cling to
the small things that make us happy.
It was my birthday 2 weeks ago and I realized that I am in
my third year of engineering and I miss a lot of things I used to do. During
the first two years I had a very carefree attitude but now that seems to be
lost, me and my friends used to go out in the middle of the night wandering
around the city but now things don't seem to be like that. There is so much we
used to do before, that now doesn't have that special place in our lives. I
wonder where that carefree attitude is now. Sure we still like to go out at
midnight like we used to but now it doesn't have that excitement to it. I guess
we will find something new in place of that. Things sure change with time.
People change too or maybe it is you who changed. It is hard
to see any changes in ourselves and it's easy to blame others for changing.
Some friends you used to talk everyday to, became strangers. I know this sounds
like one of those facebook posts but I guess this is the only best way to say
it. Maybe no one changed, we just got so busy in our lives that we stopped
thinking about them that much. We still might have that special place for them
but we don't show it, we just don't have the time. People say 'Time milta nahi,
nikana padta hai'. That is easier said than done.
Time is the only thing that everyone wants, there is always
something that is left undone. If we just had enough time. I guess the whole
concept of time is to make full use of it, sure we have regrets about not being
able to do something like not confessing your love to someone, not telling your
parents how much you care about them or even leaving a question unanswered just
because you didn't have enough time, but that is not something we should cling
on to. We should look forward to what's coming next. Sure the transition isn't
easy but that's what we have to do.
So here's one to all the things left undone, all the friends
we became strangers to, all the things that we don't have time for anymore, all
the relationships we ended and embracing everything new that is to come our
way, in hope that one day everything will be exactly what we wanted it to be.

It really is the End of an Era”
